Apple to fix the ‘chaiOS’ text message bug next week

Yesterday, we reported that there was a iMessage bug going around called chaiOS. This is a bug where a specific link can cause iMessage to crash on iOS and Macs.

Apple today acknowledged the problem and said that there is a fix on the way. In Apple’s next software update, you can expect a patch to be included for chaiOS bug and will arrive next week.

chaiOS bug was discovered by Abraham Masri, who tweeted about the bug to let everyone know of its existence. He said that the cause of the bug was linked to Effective Power, which was first introduced back in 2015. This bug works similarly in that texting someone a link was enough to cause the iPone to crash in a loop.

This bug, however, won’t cause any permanent damage to your phone, but it will certainly be incredible annoying to deal with and get rid of until Apple issues the patch. Just to keep in mind, we are sharing this information for informative purposes. We highly advise against experimenting with chaiOS bug.
