faze clan and optic gaming sign sponsorship deals with nissan

Popular eSports organizations FaZe Clan and OpTic Gaming have both sponsorship deals with automaker Nissan. The automaker becomes the latest car company to enter in the esports arena in 2019.

Having signed the sponsorship deals, both FaZe Clan and OpTic Gaming players will now wear Nissan logos on their jerseys, and the teams will have access to Nissan vehicles to assist in content creation. In the content campaign, Nissan’s Altima, Armada, Kicks, and Leaf vehicles will be featured.

“For any company trying to reach the Gen Z and millennial-minded audience, streaming and esports is an enormous opportunity,” said Robert Cross, director of media and activation at Nissan North America, in a release. “We believe this partnership presents a new approach in introducing ourselves and connecting with millions of fans through their favorite gamers.”

“We are thrilled to have an innovative automotive company like Nissan as a sponsor and brand partner,” said FaZe Clan CEO Lee Trink in a release. “We look forward to creating compelling content together for this exciting relationship.”

It’s worth mentioning that while both FaZe Clan and OpTic Gaming announced partnerships with Nissan, the two are still very much competitors and separate organizations. Notably, the two are heated rivals in competitive Call of Duty. FaZe Clan is know for its Fortnite and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams, and OpTic Gaming is known for being a reoccurring powerhouse in Call of Duty and is the organization behind the Overwatch League’s Houston Outlaws. Both teams are American eSports organizations, and also have presence in Gears of Wars and League of Legends.
