Yikes, Apple iPhone X screen repair will cost $279 without AppleCare

If you preordered the iPhone X or are planning to, there’s something you need to know. You need to buy a screen protector for the device, like immediately. Apple’s new iPhone X starts at a price point of $999, and will be costly to replace if damaged.

Taking a look at Apple’s service pricing, it will cost $279 to replace the iPhone X screen. They say that if you “need to replace your screen due to accidental damage or mishandling. Accidental damage isn’t covered by the Apple warranty.”

In addition, the cost for “additional damage that’s not limited to the screen” is $550. The exception to this is if you get the AppleCare+ coverage. In their additional coverage, it will cover accidental damage to the screen and other parts of the phone. That will cost you $199 (USD).

What’s the fix for not damaging your phone in the first place? Put a screen protector on it, playing and simple. Order a good screen protector and a robust case that will give your phone top-notch protector.
