November Social Security payments start early this year, with SSI arriving Friday, October 30, and the main retirement and disability dates falling on November 3, 10, 18 and 25. Which date applies depends on your birthday and on when you started collecting, per the Social Security Administration’s published payment schedule. Here is the full calendar of November Social Security payments, plus the one change that trips people up.
The change is Veterans Day. Wednesday, November 11 is a federal holiday, so the payment that would normally land that day moves up to Tuesday, November 10. Kiplinger’s 2026 schedule lists the same dates.
November Social Security Payment Dates
How is your payment day chosen?
Most beneficiaries are paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday of the month, based on the day they were born. The 1st-to-10th group gets the second Wednesday, the 11th-to-20th gets the third, and the 21st-to-31st gets the fourth. In November, those Wednesdays are the 11th, 18th and 25th. When a payment day lands on a federal holiday, the money arrives on the weekday before. That rule explains why November Social Security payments for the first group move up a day.
When does SSI arrive in November?
Supplemental Security Income is normally paid on the first of the month. November 1 is a Sunday, so the payment arrives Friday, October 30. Anyone who gets SSI should see November’s money before Halloween. Under the same rule, December’s SSI payment is due Tuesday, December 1.
Who is paid on November 3?
People who started collecting Social Security before May 1997, and people who receive both Social Security and SSI, are paid on the third of the month. This year, that’s Tuesday, November 3.
When does everyone else get paid?
Everyone else is paid on a Wednesday that depends on the day of the month they were born. Birthdays on the 1st through the 10th are paid Tuesday, November 10, one day early because of Veterans Day. Birthdays on the 11th through the 20th are paid Wednesday, November 18. Birthdays on the 21st through the 31st are paid Wednesday, November 25, the day before Thanksgiving.
What comes in December?
December follows the usual pattern. Birthdays on the 1st through the 10th are paid Wednesday, December 9. The 11th through the 20th are paid December 16, and the 21st through the 31st are paid December 23.
Does the 2027 raise show up in November?
No. November Social Security payments are still at the 2026 level. The Social Security Administration announced a 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment on October 14, and it will be added to benefits in January 2027, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported. Notices go out by mail and online starting in early December. The paper put the average increase at $75 a month. Medicare’s trustees project the standard Part B premium will rise $6.60 to $209.50 next year, which would trim the net raise. Editor’s Take
The Veterans Day shift is easy to miss, because most people think of the second Wednesday as the payment day. If you’re in the 1st-to-10th group and you schedule rent or autopay around the 11th, you’ll have the money a day sooner than you expect, which is the safer direction. The late-month group lands the day before Thanksgiving, so there’s no holiday delay on that one.
The other date worth marking is early December, when the raise notices begin. Treat the January increase as a separate item until your own notice shows the net figure after Medicare. In the meantime, November Social Security payments follow the schedule above, and a quick glance at your birthday group is all most people need.
