Before finishing up their event, Apple did their “one more thing…” and introduced the iPhone X to the phone. The headset features a OLED edge-to-edge display and have many other features that will surely impress you.

Lets Talk: Display

Apple calls it The Super Retina Display, is being introduced in the iPhone X. The phone comes with a 5.8-inch OLED panel that has a resolution of 2436 x 1125 and 458ppi. It provides support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 for better colors, has one million-to-one contract ratio, support Apple's True Tone color, and 3D Touch.

Lets Talk: Face ID

Since the display is edge-to-edge, there leaves no room for a Home button. That's right, there is no home button on the iPhone X. Since there's no Home button, there are a few things that have been changed. Siri will now be activated via the side button. If you want to exit apps or go to your Home screen, that will be done via s lide gesture, and you can also unlock the phone with Face ID.

Face ID will unlock your phone via facial recognition. The phone has a range of new sensors introduced that will be used for Face ID. Face ID is able to recognize authorized users very quickly and grant you access to your phone. It also uses a TrueDepth camera and a neural engine inside the all-new A11 processor.

Here's what Apple has to say on Face ID:

Face ID revolutionizes authentication on iPhone X, using a state-of-the-art TrueDepth camera system made up of a dot projector, infrared camera and flood illuminator, and is powered by A11 Bionic to accurately map and recognize a face. These advanced depth-sensing technologies work together to securely unlock iPhone, enable Apple Pay, gain access to secure apps and many more new features.
Face ID projects more than 30,000 invisible IR dots. The IR image and dot pattern are pushed through neural networks to create a mathematical model of your face and send the data to the secure enclave to confirm a match, while adapting to physical changes in appearance over time. All saved facial information is protected by the secure enclave to keep data extremely secure, while all of the processing is done on-device and not in the cloud to protect user privacy. Face ID only unlocks iPhone X when customers look at it and is designed to prevent spoofing by photos or masks.

Lets Talk: Cameras

There is a new 7-megapixel TrueDepth camera on the front of the iPhone that enables Face ID wide color capture, has image stabilization, and precise exposure control. There's also Portrait mode in the front camera now for taking stunning selfies with depth-of-field effect.

Speaking of rear cameras, there are redesigned dual 12-megapixel camera system with dual optical image stabilization. It introduces f/1.8 aperture on the wide-angle cameras and an improved f/2.4 aperture on the telephoto camera for better videos and photos.

Lets Talk: Other features

The iPhone X will launch for preorders on October 27 with 64GB and 256GB flavors. The price point starts at $999. The phone will launch on November 3.
