Apple-SiriWhen Siri was first release with the iPhone 4S, Apple marked the software as beta.  Excitement grew, funny and amusing YouTube videos were created with people having fun with Siri.  The virtual assistant has brought many things to the table for Apple and customers alike.  Now after nearly two years, Apple has taken Siri out of beta.

According to a new report from 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman, he says that Apple has finally taken Siri out of beta and is now a normally functioning virtual assistant.  It’s not that Siri never performed well before, it’s just that the assistant was never complete, up until now.  Apple is always adding new functionality to Siri.  You can book your movie tickets through Siri, ask it the schedule appointments, reply to text messages, and so much more.

Here was Siri’s description on Apple’s website before the iPhone 5s/5c announcement:

Siri is available in Beta only on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply.

Now here’s Siri’s description currently live on Apple’s website:

Siri is available on iPhone 4s or later, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply.

Over the course of two years, Apple has refined Siri to work better, faster and with much better accuracy.  Even though Apple has really improved Siri, it has some stiff competition to face from the likes of Google Now and soon-to-come Windows Phone’s Cortana.
