Intel gives up on 5G tech for smartphones
Intel has suddenly announced that it's not going to try building 5G modems for smartphones. For those who don't know, Apple has been trying to replace Qualcomm with Intel's 5G modems and not rely as much on the former company.
Apple temporarily closes 24-hour Fifth Avenue store because of bed bugs
According to a report from New York Post, staff were ordered to double bag their belongings after a bed bug was spotted in a manager's office. Apparently, bed bugs were spotted as early as three to four weeks ago, but the Apple Store didn't take it seriously until last Friday.
The company dropped the price of HomePod by up to 18 percent, depending on the regions. Spotted by 9to5Mac, the smart speaker's price has dropped from $349 to $299 in US stores, $449 to $399 in Canada and £319 to £279 in the UK.
Apple just made quite a significant hired. The company has hired Michael Schwekutsch, the Tesla Vice President overseeing electric powertrains. He will work at apple as a Senior Director of Engineering at the Special Project Group, the division that includes driveless vehicles.
