It may just be the fact that iPhone 8 is just an ‘S‘ upgrade from prior generation or many are just waiting for the iPhone X to be released in late October, but Apple isn’t seeing very long lines at its retail stores that it normally sees. Various reports and queuers have pointed out that Apple Stores have very short lines for the iPhone 8. To put it into perspective, some don’t have any lines at all.

Reuters pointed out that there were fewer than 30 people at Apple’s Sydney store, which generally has hundreds of people waiting for launch of Apple’s new devices. Reuters describes it as a “less lively mood in Asia” than previous launches. Perhaps it’s because many are waiting for the iPhone X?

Take a look at some photos of short lines in Brisbane, London, Ottawa, and Leicester.

While there didn’t seem to be a big turn out in several locations, that’s not the case everywhere. Apple’s World Trade Center location in New York had quite the line this morning, and even appeared to have a big turnout in Singapore.

Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s retailer leader had some words to say to BuzzFeed News. She said that “it’s kind of our fault” that lines outside their Apple Stores are decreasing. The company is giving customers a lot of different options to choose from, such as purchasing online, in-person, and even from your own Apple device.

It may go without saying that iPhone X may be eating into the iPhone 8 orders. The company did introduce a new and revolutionary iPhone X device earlier this month and many may be looking forward to getting their hands on the iPhone X. I know that here at the Jolt Journal, we are.
