Apple reportedly setting $999 price point for the new iPhone

Apple reportedly setting $999 price point for the new iPhone

Apple’s new iPhone 8 is setting up to be one expensive smartphone. According a new report from The New York Times, the new feature-packed iPhone 8 will have a price point of “around 9.” This is easily about $350 more than the standard iPhone that costs today.

Apple is expected to announced the new iPhone 8 next month. Along with it, the company plans to introduce two other iPhones that will more than likely be named iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. They may be slightly redesigned and updated versions of iPhone 7.

The new iPhone 8 will feature a bold new design and have a nearly edge-to-edge display. Since this is a fully premium phone, the company is expected to also increase the price to a new premium point at $999, or around that. This would be the first time the company introduces a phone that costs significantly more than every before.

The Times report also confirms that Apple will introduce wireless charging and facial recognition in the iPhone 8 and will be a selling point of the phone. We’ve seen several details of the phone through firmware leaks last month.
