If you've shopped on OnePlus.net recently, you should keep an eye on your credit card bill. OnePlus has said that it's investigating claims of credit card numbers being stolen from customers who have purchased a phone from its website.
A customer opened a thread over the weekend claiming that recent credit card fraud he experienced was connected to his OnePlus purchase. Now, almost 100 people have chimed in on the conversation and poll, claiming that they too have experienced fraudulent purchases after making a OnePlus purchase from their website.
Taking a look at a FAQ from OnePlus' website, it says that e-commerce platform is build with “custom code” and that “card info is never processed or saved on our website.” Regarding credit card data, it says that data is “sent directly to our PCI-DSS-compliant payment processing partner over an encrypted connection, and processed on their secure servers.”
OnePlus has come forth and said, “This is an ongoing investigation. We are working with our third-party providers and will update you on findings as they surface.” At the time of this post, it appears that OnePlus is still processing credit cards on its website.
