Honda has announced that it will starting taking preorders for a production version of the Urban EV, the tiny retro electric vehicle, starting early 2019. Europe will launch in late 2019. At this time, there’s no mention of launches for other areas, or an official version of the Sports EV Concept.
Though, don’t get your hopes too high in seeing the same exact vehicle you saw back in September 2017. While the retro-looking design will likely stay intact, the Urban EV, after all, was a concept car. Because of this, Honda will likely have to scale back a lot on the technology as the car enters the realities of the manufacturing process.
You probably won’t get one hundred percent same external displays or the ultra-wide touchscreen, and you can also expect it to be toned down on certain other things, like the square-like steering wheel and wooden dash. Even then, Honda will still make the Urban EV and bring it to the market, starting with pre-orders in early 2019.
