Google Home job posting suggests touchscreen device is in works

According to a recent job posting, spotted by Variety, tells us that Google is rumored to be developing a touchscreen device that would join the ranks of Home’s device lineup. The listing says that “In this role, you’ll work on the next generation of Google Hardware to enable the best multi-touch user experience.” Google is looking to add multi-touch products to its offerings.

This gives us a good idea that Google is working on adding some multi-touch products, much like Amazon’s Echo show, to its pipeline. It shouldn’t really surprise anyone though. Multi-touch gestures could most likely make their way to Google’s next generation of Home and Home Max.

There is something to keep in mind, however. Google recently did suffer a humiliating hardware defect in the Home Mini speaker that forced the company to permanently disable the touch sensor that’s on the top of the device. Even though this decision was the right one by Google, it still took away a key feature and appeal away from the Home Mini, to say the least.
