Through tweet, Tim Cook shows support for Apple’s Dreamer employees

Apple CEO Tim Cook published a tweet that reaffirmed his support for the company’s Dreamers. Dreamers are children of undocumented immigrants who have spent much of their life in the United States, growing up here, and building their futures. Apple currently employs 250 such individuals.

In the tweet, Cook write that “250 of my Apple coworkers are #Dreamers. I stand with them. They deserve our respect as equals and a solution rooted in American values.”

As many as 300 tech leaders signed a letter earlier this week showing support for Dreamers after reports surfaced that the Trump administration is considering ending the Consideration of Deferred Action of Childhood Act (DACA) program. Cook is one of those signatories.

We are expected to find a final decision from Trump administration as soon as Tuesday regarding the fate of the program.
