Amid FBI probe, Deandre Ayton’s attorney asks for his client’s name to be cleared

Attorney representing Arizona Wildcats basketball star Deandre Ayton has sought out assistance from the FBO and NCAA to get Ayton’s name cleared from the DBI corruption investigation. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach on Twitter published a statement from Ayton’s attorney:

According to report from Schlabach, on Friday, he reported that Arizona head coach Sean Miller was heard on FBI wiretaps actively discussing a $100,000 payout to make sure that Ayton would play basketball for the team.

Follow the report, Miller didn’t appear to coach the Wildcats during Saturday’s game against Oregon. Ayton still appeared in the team’s lineup, and the team released a statement saying that he remains eligible to play.
