Exxon and Chevron Q3 Results: A Refining Windfall Lifts Profit as Brent Averaged $97 a Barrel
Exxon earned $15.4 billion and Chevron $9.9 billion in the third quarter. Refining margins did much of the work, and both raised or confirmed shareholder payouts.
