New Apple patent application suggests increased privacy for you and your iPhone screen

According to an article published on Apple Insider, they noticed a new patent application called Displays With Adjustable Angles-of-View that will allow users to customize the viewing angle of their iPhone display. This in turn will allow for more screen privacy control over your iPhone.

We’ve all been in those situations where we’re either working on an important document or secretly chatting with a secret girlfriend and don’t want family members to see. Well, this new patent application may give you more privacy and control over who can see your screen.

This new invention will let users restrict viewing angles on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac when you want to make sure no one is watching your screen. You of course will be able to revert settings back to normal after keeping it at a certain angle for a period of time. So how does this work exactly? The iPhone would need an electrically controllable filter that would let the user selectively polarize the screen.

This type of feature will require additional screen layer, which Apple will need to work on future iPhones, iPads, and Mac models with hardware support. So don’t expect this feature to be present in the new iPhone next month.

Right now, one of the best options is to get privacy glass that goes on top of your iPhone. This helps to protect those snooping eyes from eavesdropping on your phone and what you’re doing.

It’s worth mentioning that there is always a possibility of this feature may never making it to production and commercial use. But who knows, it may.
