Apple Home Collection is a new line of smart home gear built with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Apple announced it on October 13, and the devices start arriving in December 2026, Apple said. The pitch is simple. Setup takes one tap on an iPhone, and everything runs through the Apple Home app, with no separate app or account.
What’s in Apple Home Collection
What is in the Apple Home Collection lineup?
LG supplies four cameras, a smart deadbolt, a thermostat, and a temperature sensor. Schneider Electric supplies a thermostat and a room sensor. The cameras are a wired video doorbell, a floodlight camera, an outdoor camera, and an indoor camera. Apple says they record up to 2.5K video and recognize people, pets, vehicles, and packages. Built-in storage keeps recording if the Wi-Fi drops.
How do the lock and thermostats work?
Apple leads with the deadbolt. Walk up with a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch, and Ultra Wideband opens the door without a tap. There’s also a PIN pad, and the lock keeps working when the internet goes out. The thermostats use on-device intelligence to switch between home, night, and away. Clean Energy Guidance, which relies on a utility plan, works in the contiguous U.S.
What does Apple Home Collection need?
Camera history lives in the cloud, and that is the catch. Apple keeps 10 days of events through iCloud+. The 50GB plan covers one camera, and the 200GB plan covers up to five. Many features also depend on a home hub, such as a HomePod, a HomePod mini, or an Apple TV 4K. AI video summaries need an Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad.
How much does Apple Home Collection cost, and where is it sold?
The cameras start at $199.95, the lock is $349.95, and each thermostat is $199.95. Sensors are $39.95. The cameras are for the U.S., Canada, and the UK, and the lock and thermostats are for the U.S. and Canada. Select accessories arrive in early 2027. In the U.S., Apple Stores will offer ADT installation for an extra fee.
Editor’s Take
Fewer apps and accounts is the draw, and smart homes need it. The catch is iCloud+, since camera history follows your storage plan. If you want several cameras, run that math before you order. Apple Home Collection also fits best with other Apple gear, like the new HomePod mini 2 and the $1,999 iPhone Duo.
