Apple Watch Series 3 will track your skiing and snowboarding activities

Love to ski or snowboard? Apple Watch Series 3 will now track your skiing and snowboarding workouts and put them toward your daily activity goals. Apps such as Snoww, Slope and Ski Tracks will be able to take advantage of the Watch’s built-in GPS and altimeter.

Apple says that in conjunction to working with the apps, your Apple Watch will log your total vertical descent and horizontal distance, average and maximum speed, calories burned, number of runs and your total time spend on the slopes. You’ll also be able to take advantage of Siri voice commands to start some of the apps.

These features are being added directly to the Health app itself. Apple is relying on third-parties to use the functionality.

Are you ready to take that trip? I sure am!
