Samsung stops S8 Android Oreo rollout due to reboot glitch

It appears that Samsung has stopped the rollout of Android Oreo to S8 owners. If you were hoping for Android Oreo to land on your Galaxy S8, you will have to wait a bit longer now.

As stopped by SamMobile, Samsung has stopped the Android Oreo firmware rollout because the software was causing some handsets to randomly reboot. Because of this issue, Samsung has halted the rollout until it can figure out a solution for the problem.

The rollout began in Europe, where users of the beta program started noticing the problem. If you have already downloaded and installed the software, you can keep using it. But f you downloaded the software but haven’t installed it yet, the files will apparently be deleted from your phone. Samsung is currently working on a fix for the issue but hasn’t revealed when the fix will arrive.
