AT&T experiencing nationwide outage that prevents users from making calls

The Jolt Journal (https://www.joltjournal.com)

AT&T has been experiencing a nationwide outage since earlier today. After seeing many reports on social media platforms, AT&T has now acknowledged that some customers are facing issues when trying to make calls over its wireless network. According to DownDetector, there have been over 6,000 complaints reported since AT&T started experiencing issues.

Complaints are still happening over Twitter and other social media platforms. Users are saying they are unable to place or receive calls. The problem doesn’t seem to only be limited to specific phones such as Apple or Samsung phones, rather it’s affecting other types of devices on AT&T’s network.

In a statement, AT&T has acknowledged the problem and states:

“We are aware of an issue affecting some users’ ability to make certain wireless calls. These users should restart their devices, which should resolve the issue.”

AT&T also acknowledged the issue on Twitter, saying they are working hard to restore service to those customers that have been affected by this issue:

Currently there is an outage affecting wireless services in your area. Please know that technicians are working to restore your services at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your patience while we restore your services.

Reports have gone down as time rolls into evening, but reports are still coming in where there are still over 300 complaints filed. If you’re continuing to experience issues, you can use Wi-Fi calling which is still operational.
