Comcast expands Xfinity Mobile by offering it nationwide

After four months of limited-market launch, Comcast is now expanding its Xfinity Mobile offering nationwide to all markets. Here’s something that we thought we’d never say: Comcast’s Xfinity Mobile packages are something actually worth considering.

Xfinity Mobile runs on Verizon’s network, which is one of the best networks available. If you’re interested in unlimited data plan, it will cost you $45 per month, which is substantially lower than Verizon’s own $80-per-month Unlimited plan (for one user).

Now everyone can be a Xfinity Mobile customer, however. There are some requirements. In order to qualify for the service, you must be a Comcast home internet customer to be eligible. The company is rolling out its service everywhere it offers its home internet service.

Comcast is offering two plans: $45-per-month, which gets you unlimited talk, text, and data, with a soft cap of 20GB per month; and also a per-GB alternative, where Xfinity Mobile will charge you $12 per GB per month.

What’s more interesting is that Comcast is letting you mix and match the type of plan you need. For example, you have a family of four. One member can choose unlimited data, and the rest can choose the pay per GB option depending on their usage. This is a bit unusual for a wireless carrier, especially since this may run you at a cheaper price than even T-Mobile’s options. Not to mention you’re getting service on Verizon’s network.
