Multiple Samsung and HTC devices have been banned from benchmark site

Samsung-Logo-25:15 PM – A while back, Samsung was caught cheating in benchmark results by several developers.  This included both tablets and smartphones.  Samsung isn’t the only company that took heat for cheating in benchmark results.  HTC, LG and several other Android smartphone manufacturers were caught cheating.  Now, a benchmark site has done something about it.

According to a report from The Register, Futuremark, a company that tests devices for graphics testing has banned several Samsung and HTC devices from their benchmark.  Futuremark has publicly shamed both companies for cheating and has delisted several devices from their website.

Futuremark ranks smartphones and tablets according to their performance on its 3Dmark test for Android, which measures graphics performance on mobile devices.

“People rely on Futuremark benchmarks to produce accurate and unbiased results,” said Futuremark President Oliver Baltuch. “That’s why we have clear rules for hardware manufacturers and software developers that specify how a platform can interact with our benchmark software.

Futuremark has delisted the Samsung Galaxy Note III and flagship Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets.  From HTC, the company has banned the HTC One and HTC One mini.
