Say goodbye to those annoying black bars when watching YouTube in vertical videos on iOS

Remember when you tried to watch vertical video on your iPhone and how it struggles to properly perform? YouTube player didn’t resize based on the orientation of the video. This regulated in large black bars to show.

Well, that’s a thing of the past now. YouTube team has managed to provide a fix from here on out. Announced on Twitter, YouTube team said this week that their video player will not adapt to the dimensions of the movie you’re watching on your iPhone.

To give you an idea of how the player will work, take a look at the tweet below. If the video is vertical, the player will become vertical as well.

The update isn’t live just yet, but it should be live very soon.
