For the first time ever, Twitch will start live-streaming games from official sports league. The NBA G League, NBA’s official minor league, will start streaming games on Twitch. The streaming company will stream up to six games each week, and will have few interactive features on its Twitch channel. This will go live on Friday.

If you want to look at some in-depth and interesting status, viewers will be able to click on a team name or logo and look at status. In addition, you will be able to get loyalty points while engaging with the stream. These points can then be used to unlock achievements, earn prizes, and climb leaderboards. Twitch hasn’t provided specific details on the kinds of prizes that will be available, but our best guess is they might give away T-shirt’s, jerseys, and other accessories.

The NBA G League channel will be co-streaming by more than dozen Twitch celebrities, like GoldGlove, and other basketball fans. Heads of both NBA G League and Twitch say that this move will bring minor league basketball more relevance to a younger audience and more attention to NBA G League as a whole. ”

We aren’t a traditional sports experience on TV; we are much more,” said Michael Aragon, SVP of content at Twitch.
