Following lawsuit, Uber is considering partnership with Waymo

The long-running legal battle between Waymo and Uber is settled, the two companies may actually partner up. According to a report from The Information, led by new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, Uber executives are looking for a way to get Uber riders into Waymo’s autonomous cars.

We already know that Waymo is collaborating with Lyft, but despite this, a working relationship between Waymo and Uber can help get more self-driving cars on the road. Lyft has continuously benefited from the fall of Uber too. Uber is looking for ways to stay competitive without falling too far behind int he public consciousness.

The Information says that there’s no indication Waymo is even ready to make a deal with Uber or if it’s even interested at all. Even then, CEO Khosrowshahi is well aware of Waymo’s self-driving systems are more advanced than its own, according to the site’s sources, and a working relationship Waymo would be beneficial for Uber in the long run.
