For drivers Uber now adding Apple CarPlay integration to its app

Uber announced this week a major update to its iOS app, bringing ease of use for its drivers. The integration of Apple CarPlay will be available for the Uber Driver app, which Uber drivers use. Drivers will be able to interact directly with the platform from their car dashboard while CarPlay is connected to their iPhone.

Uber drivers currently need an iPhone or Android application to view and accept Uber rides. They can also check the map to see surge pricing and check out areas. This isn’t always convenient when driving. Uber has announced integration with Apple CarPlay in its Uber app for drivers.

Uber confirmed in an email to its partners that they will provide the same features to drivers through CarPlay. Drivers will need to open the Uber Driver App on their iPhone and connect their iPhone to the car wirelessly or via cable. Then CarPlay will display the Uber app on the car’s dashboard.

CarPlay, which is an integration system that allows iOS to be integrated into the dashboard of cars, is new and exciting. The dashboard displays an iOS version specifically designed for cars when the iPhone is connected to it. You can interact with third-party apps as well as apps from Apple.

TechCrunch has noted that many car manufacturers use Apple CarPlay. This means that many Uber drivers will be able to benefit from this integration.
