Apple has officially unveiled its update AirPods. The new AirPods bring a host of updates, such as specifically-designed H1 chip that delivers performance efficiencies, faster connection times, more talk time and best of all, hands-free “Hey Siri” functionality.

The “Hey Siri” functionality will make it easier to change songs, make phone calls, adjust the volume or even as simple as getting directions. All you’ll have to do is say “Hey Siri” and you’ll be set to go.

The new H1 chip in the AirPods delivers up to 50 percent more talk time when compared to the first-gen AirPods. The H1 should also speed up switching between devices. Apple said that AirPods should now connect two times faster over the first-gen pair.

Another interesting feature Apple brought is the option to either get the standard case or get AirPods with all-new Wireless Charging case that’s priced at $199. The standard charging case with AirPods are priced at $159. If you want just the wireless charging case, you can get it for $79.

The tech specs for the new AirPods say that the earbuds require devices running iOS 12.2, watchOS 5.2 or macOS 10.14.4. With the AirPods shipping next week, it therefore follows that Apple will be launching these OS updates next week too.

For the first time, there’s also the option for personal engraving on the cases and AirPods at checkout if you buy them directly from Apple’s website. The second-gen AirPods will be available in stores next week.
