Looking to purchase Sony’s PlayStation VR? Now is the time!

Sony announced today that the company is dropping the price of two PlayStation VR bundles. The “core” PSVR set will now start selling at $399. If you’re interested in the more expensive PSVR set that includes camera, two PS Move controllers, and Sony-produced PlayStation Worlds, you can now get it for $449.

Both bundles will go on sale September 1st. Previously, the $399 VR set has been often advertised but since you needed an external camera to use it, many were not interested.

When comparing both PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift, PSVR is now the cheaper options. Oculus Rift got a previous permanent discount down to $499, and now PSVR is cheaper than that price.

This is a good move on Sony’s part to attract attention. All three high-end VR companies — HTC, Oculus Rift, and Sony — have cut prices of their VR sets.
