If you’re a Comcast Xfinity X1 user, Netflix just added 4K streaming for you

Netflix is now adding 4K streaming to Comcast’s set-top box Xfinity X1. If you’re a Xfinity X1 user, you now have the capability to stream 4K content from Netflix. In order to stream 4K, you must be a member of Netflix’s premium subscription.

Before bringing 4K streaming option to Xfinity X1, several other devices already had the capability, such as Apple TV, Roky, Sony TV, and Amazon Fire TV.

This move brings more options for Xfinity X1 users. Netflix is bringing this option for these users at an interesting time, though. Stranger Things season 2 just arrived on Netflix, as well as the company decided to pull further seasons of House of Cards amid Kevin Spacey allegations.

Netflix has also raised its prices for its premium plan from $11.99 to $13.99 a month. That isn’t a substantial change, however, it may turn off some folks.
