GDPR Commitment
The Jolt Journal’s Commitment to the Protection of Data
The Jolt Journal is committed to protecting the personal data of its readers, including readers in the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. The GDPR is the most comprehensive EU data privacy law in more than two decades, and went into effect on May 25, 2018.
Here is what that means in practice:
- We hold personal data only when you give it to us: your email address for a newsletter, or the details you include when you contact us.
- Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy name every outside service that handles data on our pages, including advertising and analytics, and link to each one’s own privacy policy.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it.
- We are monitoring the guidance around GDPR compliance from privacy-related regulatory bodies, and will update our practices and these pages if it changes.
Notice to Vendors and Suppliers
If you provide services to The Jolt Journal that involve personal data, we expect you to handle that data in line with the GDPR and other data-protection laws that apply. Where a separate data protection agreement has been signed with The Jolt Journal, that agreement governs.
Notice to EU and UK Residents
If you are an EU or UK resident looking to exercise your rights under the GDPR, please review our Privacy Policy and contact us through our contact page. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
