9:35 AM – Over the last few months, we have been seeing leaks about the HTC One Max. From having a larger display, to having a fingerprint sensor, you name it. There isn’t really anything on the list that we don’t know about, but it’s still exciting. This is the first time HTC has introduced a larger display device.
On Monday, HTC officially announced the One Max. The new 5.9-inch phablet sports a Super LCD3 display (resolution of 1080×1920, at 367 ppi), Qualcomm 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor (not the 800, but still justt fine), an UltraPixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The device comes with all metal body.
For storage, the HTC One Max comes with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, but also providing you with microXDHC card support for an additional 64GB of storage. For your daily multitasking needs, the device sports 2GB of RAM and a 3,300 mAh battery to make sure it lasts all day without any issues. As for the software, it comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean running under HTC’s new Sense 5.5 software.
What’s more interesting in this new device is that HTC has included a new fingerprint sensor at the back of the device, under the camera. We have seen Apple introduce a fingerprint sensor under the home button, but HTC has decided to include it on the back.
HTC said that the phablet will become available later this month, although there is no specific release date for the US market.
