New leaked video shows iPhone 8 with a rear Touch ID

Right now, it’s expected that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 will not include a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Several sources have indicated that this will be the case, but a new leaked video on Chinese microblogging site Weibo really surprises us.

Leaked Tuesday morning, the video shows us of a factory worker testing the Touch ID on the back of supposed iPhone 8. As you can see from the video, the fingerprint sensor seems to be embedded into the back of the phone. After the factory worker finishes testing his fingerprint, you can see lines of code running on the screen above.

To make it even more convincing, the testing station in the video shows “Mesa,” which is Apple’s codename for Touch ID. The video doesn’t look like it’s faked because all equipment seems fully functional.

If you have doubts that it’s the iPhone 8, if you carefully look at the vertically mounted camera, it’s to be featured in the upcoming and highly anticipated iPhone. We at one point thought that it could have been the iPhone 7/7s Plus design, but the vertically mounted camera changed our thought otherwise.

As always, take the video as a hint. Nothing is 100 percent confirmed until Apple officially introduces the iPhone. The video could be testing of an old prototype that never made to the final design, but we don’t know for certain. Take a look at the video.
