Comcast’s Xfinity internet service, Xfinity, is experiencing an outage across the US. According to website DownDetector.com, it shows that the service is down around the United States, including larger cities like San Francisco, Boston, and Los Angeles.
Online reports haven’t suggested that the company’s TV service or home phones are affected and only Xfinity internet service is experiencing an outage.
To confirm, Comcast tweeted and confirmed the reports from its customer care account.
Some customers are having issues with their XFINITY Internet service. We apologize & appreciate your patience while we work to fix.

The outage seems to have started around 1 PM ET/2 PM CT. Some users are reporting either a complete outage or slow services. We have reached out to Comcast for more details, comment, and a timeline for when the service should be back up. We will update this report if we hear back.
Level3 issued a statement after resolving the problem: “On Monday, November 6th, our network experienced a service disruption affecting some customers with IP-based services. The disruption was caused by a configuration error. We know how important these services are to our customers. Our technicians were able to restore service within approximately 90 minutes.“
Update 6:15 PM ET: Statement from Level3 added and the issue has been resolved.
