NVIDIA’s GTX 1660 Ti is an impressive powerhouse for just $279

NVIDIA has finally unveiled its much-leaked GTX 1660 Ti graphics card. The next-gen Turing card, lacking RTX-series’ ray tracing, costs less than the GTX 1060 but outperforms it.

The GTX 1660 Ti graphics card comes with 6GB of GDDR6 RAM running at 12Gbps, 1,536 CUDA cores and 1.8GHz boost clock speed allowing for more overclocking opportunities. The card delivers 1.5 times improvements in performance over the 1060 6GB graphics card and 1.4 times the power efficiency. It’s definitely fast enough to play games such as Apex Legends, PUBG, and Fortnite at 120fps/1080p.

It’s worth mentioning the price and value of the GTX 1660 Ti graphics card, which is $279. The company has taken heavy criticism over the ridiculous pricing of RTX 20-series GPUs, and as such, you can see a lot more value for your money with this new card. The RTX cards don’t offer a huge boost in performance over last-gen cards, but what you’re really paying for is ray tracing, currently only available on a few games.

To put it into perspective, the RTX 2060 card costs $100 more than the GTX 1060 did at launch. This is why the GTX 1660 Ti is priced at $279, should deliver the game performance as the GTX 1070, and best of all, costs less. If you’re willing to invest a little more money, the $349 RTX 2060 card will outperform the GTX 1660 Ti because it has more CUDA cores (1,920) and a higher 14Gbps memory speed.

If you’re interested in the new GTX 1660 Ti graphics card, NVIDIA has promised that there will be plenty to go around at launch today. You can grab the card from ASIS, MSI, Gigabyte, PNY and other manufacturers. The starting price of the card is $279, or £260 if you’re in the UK.
