Acting CEO of Cambridge Analytica is stepping down

Cambridge Analytica’s leadership may be going through a shakeup because the tech firm announced that its acting CEO, Alexander Tayler, is stepping down. He will resume his post as chief data officer. Last month, the company’s board suspended head exec Alexander Nix after he was caught boasting about using blackmail and propaganda on behalf of their previous clients.

At this time, there were no details given as to who would be replacing Tayler at the post. Prior to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s two-day Congressional hearing events, Cambridge Analytica released their own version of events. Unsurprisingly, everything they explained makes it look like their actions were within legal bounds.

When Zuckerberg began to answer questions on Capital Hill starting yesterday, the social network released a tool allowing users to check and see if Cambridge Analytica accessed their information. Since 87 million people were affected by this issue, you can bet that many checked to see if they were affected. Even though 87 million people were affected by this, Zuckerberg revealed on the second day in front of Congress that his data was also accessed by Cambridge Analytica. If you were affected, Facebook CEO is right there with you.
