Expect bigger and better 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD pickups next year

While we’ve seen the introduction of 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 as being one of the biggest truck news so far this year, there’s more coming from the automaker. In a teaser image for the 2020 Silverado HD, the company published the official image on Tuesday and announced that it will be debuting the Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD in fall of 2019.

The announcement didn’t provide details about the truck, but the automaker did say that the 2020 Silverado HD pickups will bring prioritization to needs of heavy-duty truck buyers. Additionally, we expect to see larger portions and a “bolder” design for the trucks.

When taking a look at the image, we see the 2020 Silverado HD will forego a bow tie badge and instead feature text that spells out “Chevrolet” across the grille bar. The truck will also accept the 2019 Silverado 1500’s headlight treatment that has a split and sculpted design. Angular LED lights seem to sit on top, and traditional headlights will sit below the grille bar. Additionally, the teaser image shows a massive hood scoop, which leads us to speculate it’s for the Duramax diesel V-8 or the gasoline V-8 engines.

The automaker added that the production of 2020 Silverado HD trucks will begin in Q3 of 2019 and at its Flint, Michigan assembly plant. That’s well more than a year away, but it’s pretty clear that the company wants to start building momentum for the trucks.
