According to a Virgin Mobile memo MacRumors obtained, it claims that Apple (Product) Red versions of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be announced soon, possible as early as April 9th. At this time, we don’t know if they will ship on the day of the announcement or if Virgin will take pre-orders, but there shouldn’t be much of a delay between announcement and availability.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg also backed the story. He has a history of being a reliable source of Apple leaks.
While the 8 and 8 Plus will become available in (Product) Red versions, there’s no news about the iPhone X. Seeing as the iPhone X is already an expensive handset to begin with, it would be an even harder sell for Apple in a special edition color. We shouldn’t count it entirely out of the question, but can’t really count on it.
