Avengers: Infinity War’s ticket presales surpasses the record set by Black Panther

Previously, Fandango reported that Black Panther set a record for ticket presales for Marvel movies. It set itself up for a huge box office haul and has since passed $1 billion.

On Friday, tickets for Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Infinity War went on sale, and Variety reports that the ticket sales for the film have already blown past the record previously set by Black Panther — in just six hours at that.

Yesterday, Marvel released the final trailer for Avengers: Infinity War in conjunction with the start of ticket sales for the movie, due to come out on April 27th. Variety says that Fandango released the results from a user survey that it did. The survey showed a high level of excitement for the film, but also that BlackPanther “made them more excited to see Avengers: Infinity War.”
