Google Pixel 2 users are reporting shortened battery life and warming temperatures

If you’re a Pixel 2 user and noticed your phone running warm lately or found that your phone’s battery life is a lot shorter than expected, you’re not the only one experiencing these issues. 9to5Google points out that Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users are reporting on Reddit and Google’s Pixel User Community that their phones are having some issues after they installed Google’s February security update.

To put it into perspective, 9to5Google’s own Ben Schoon reports that his personal Pixel 2 XL has been running warm as of late while in standby model since he installed the updated. In addition, the battery life has been noticeably reduced.

Some users have reported that both issues are affecting their phones, while other users are saying they’ve experienced one or neither. Some users have said that they’re experiencing big battery drain on their Pixel 2’s, but inconsistently even with similar phone usage. Most of the complaints, however, point to the problems occurring after installing this month’s security update. At this time though, it’s not certain what’s actually causing the issues.
