If your significant other has been itching for a new smartphone, OnePlus may have just the thing for you. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, OnePlus has decided to unveil a Lava Red OnePlus 5T smartphone. This is essentially the same device that made its debut in China and India late last year, and now it’s making its way to North American and Europe, while supplies last.
The Lava Red OnePlus 5T is identical to the original black phone that OnePlus launched last November. It’s definitely a sturdy, well-designed and engineered smartphone. There is, however, a Sandstone White edition version that may provide better handling and ergonomics.
The Lava Red OnePlus 5T brings a more pinkish hue to the stage, but tends to shift with the way the light reflects on the surface. The fingerprint reader is matched to the aluminum rear shell, but it’s not perfect because it stills ticks it from the rest of the phone. The front of the phone is a classic black all around, so it’s basically hard to tell what you’ve got in your hand if you put a case on it.
Lava Red 5T stocks to the same finish as the original 5T and doesn’t re-create the Sandstone White’s finish. If you’ve been looking to get your hands on the Sandstone White, good luck because it’s been since sold out and no plans for restock.
Availability for the Lava Red OnePlus 5T will start at 10AM local time in each respective time zone tomorrow. The smartphone will come in 128GB of storage, 8GB RAM and will cost €559, $559, or £499. If you preorder before February 8th, you will get free priority shipping, which will get the phone to your door within two to three business days. There’s also a 15 percent discount when you buy two of the same accessories, but that discount will not be applied to the devices themselves.
