Lyft and Aptiv will be continuing their self-driving cars partnership beyond CES

At CES 2018, ride-hailing app company Lyft and Aptiv, an autonomous tech company, partnered for a pilot program that involved self-driving cars. At CES this year, modified BMWs were available for on-demand rides to up to 20 destinations within Las Vegas as part of the demonstration that both companies were showing.

According to a report from TechCrunch, the partnership pilot program was so success that both companies have announced they will extend their partnership beyond CES. We currently don’t have many details about how things will progress, but we have reached out to Lyft for further comment. What we do know is that both companies are in talks for a second pilot program, similar to the one they demonstrated at CES, but in a different location around the U.S.

It will definitely be interesting to see how the two companies work together to further solidify their partnership and how the companies move into a second pilot program. For now though, we know that the pilot program at CES 2018 was quite the success that they’re extending their partnership beyond it.
