First iPhone X jailbreak is available to use, but don’t get your hopes too high

With all the great features available on the iOS platform these days, there’s hardly a reason to jailbreak your iPhone. But there are also plenty of people who think that jailbreaking your iPhone is great and worth doing. That being said, someone has managed to jailbreak the iPhone X and released it to the public.

Called LiberiOS, this jailbreak works on iOS 11.1.2 devices, including iPhone X, iPhone 8, and older models. While this is great news, there are some things to keep in mind because it’s not all good news.

The first thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t an untethered jailbreak, which is the jailbreak that you want because untethered jailbreak fees you from the computer. Additionally, this jailbreak only works with iOS 11.0 and iOS 11.1.2, which are no longer being signed by Apple. RedmondPie explains that if you’re on iOS 11.2 or later, you’re out of luck.

The other thing worth mentioning is that Cydia, the App Store for jailbroken iPhones, doesn’t work on the 64-bit only iOS 11. You won’t be able to load iOS apps that are found on Cydia. This basically tells us that it’s not worth jailbreaking your iPhone. If you still want to jailbreak, head on over to this tutorial to get started.
