With all the awesome deals, here’s why OnePlus isn’t having a Black Friday sale

The Jolt Journal (https://www.joltjournal.com)

You’ve been shopping on Amazon, eBay, and other retailers for a smartphone and your eye catches one of the OnePlus smartphones. You noticed that there are no sales from OnePlus. Why is that? There are deals on the iPhone 8, Galaxy S8, and even older smartphones like the iPhone 6, but why not the OnePlus 5T smartphone?

OnePlus’s attitude toward sales is the reason why you’re not seeing any deals on the OnePlus 5T. Basically, OnePlus is a direct-to-customer provide where they cut out any middleman (eg. carriers), and the company itself will sell the “flagship” smartphone for less than the competition.

Since the smartphone is already being offered at a more affordable rate and because there is no middleman, in theory, it doesn’t make sense for OnePlus to have a Black Friday deal as it would eat into the company’s profits and further reduce its potential income. This is basically what was said in a short statement from OnePlus:

Mind games are tiring for everyone. (A great line for your Tinder profile.) We prefer to keep the focus on making good products to share with the world. In order to do so, we have to make some money in the process. At the same time, our users would like to save some money.

This is where fair pricing comes in. Cut through the BS. Keep things simple. We make money to fund our product and feed the team. You save money and get the best user experience, whether it’s Black Friday or Taco Tuesday.

So pick-up your OnePlus 5T today at basically the same price – just $0.01 off. We’ll throw in our Dash Power Bundle at 50% off for 24 hours. We can do that much. You won’t get a huge price slash or rebate on this device today if you order today. You’ll just get the best device we’ve ever created and the immense satisfaction that you’re supporting a smartphone that is changing the way our industry works.

So basically, OnePlus is counting on the original price of the smartphone to be the driver of sales. While OnePlus hasn’t offered any deal on the OnePlus 5T, it’s saying that they will still drive sales and sell the smartphone because it’s still competitive to the deals on the market. Is this a good move? Only time will tell.
