New report says Apple will not allow nudity or violence in its TV shows

According to new report from Bloomberg, Apple will not be allowing nudity or violence in its TV shows. If you’re a fan of TV shows like Game of Thrones, then this is somewhat bad news for you. Apple, instead, is shifting its focus on comedies and dramas, such as This Is Us, and bring out compelling shows in those areas.

This is definitely an interesting decision. According to Bloomberg, this decision has led producers and partners label Apple as “conservative and picky,” and recent moves by Apple puts those words into perspective. Earlier this year, Tim Cook delayed the release of Carpool Karaoke so that “foul language and references to vaginal hygiene” can be removed from some episodes.

Another interesting fact to point out is that the company will no longer put its shows on Apple Music, like it did previously with Karaoke and Planet of the Apps, according to Bloomberg. This is a good decision on Apple’s part for its TV business, since introducing the previous two shows on Apple Music most likely was to boost the service’s subscription numbers.

With a $1 billion budget set in place, and a team that’s constantly looking for new content, it will be interesting to see where Apple takes its shows. The company still needs to completely hammer out its TV plans. As Apple gets closer to making major releases, we will see what those plans are. Perhaps, Apple could potentially bring special attention to Apple TV? Time will tell.
