Amazon wants to challenge FedEx and UPS with its own delivery service

As if it wasn’t enough for Jeff Bezos to already have built an empire that Amazon is, purchasing another giant business like Whole Foods, he wants to kick this up a notch. This time, Amazon wants to have its own delivery service that rivals FedEx and UPS, according to a report from Bloomberg.

Amazon is currently testing a new delivery service that could reduce overcrowding in its factories, warehouses, and bring two-day prime shipping option to more of its products. Right now, Amazon leaves last-mile delivery up to third-party partners such as FedEX and UPS. The company wants to further reduce its reliance on outside sources and integrate more services within its own business.

The service originally started two years ago in India, and now Amazon is prepping to expand the service to the US. Planning to call it Seller Flex, trial of the service has already started near the West Coast, and will come to other states next year, per Bloomberg.
