Roku refreshes lineup with a new 4K HDR streaming and other options

In 2016, Roku launched six new streaming boxes that ranged from Roku Express+ to the UHD HDR-ready Roku Ultra. The company also did a complete refresh of Roku Streaming Stick and brought it up to the level of Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Talking about today, the company has announced yet another complete overhaul of its devices, including an all-new Roku Streaming Stick+ that rocks 4K HDR in a device that size of a flash drive.

The all-new 2017 collection is set to be released on October 6 and will have several things at launch. For starts, there’s the Roku Express and Express+ for the low-end, according to sources at Roku, providing five times more improvement over last year’s models.

The Roku Express will stat at $29 and offer HD streaming via HDMI. The Express+ will be a Walmart exclusive and offer HD streaming via HDMI or composite cable for $39. The color options are red, white, and yellow jacks.

Now that we’ve talking about the Roku Express, we’re going to move up and talk about the Roku Streaming Stick. The $49 stick comes with a quad-core processor and 802.11 AC dual-band Wi-Fi antenna that will output 1080p HD streams via HDMI. The all-new Roku Streaming Stick+ will take the top spot by offering 4K HDR at 60 frames-per-second for $69.

Lastly, we will talk about the Roku Ultra. The Roku Ultra looks identical to last year’s model, but there’s one thing. The new Roku Ultra is now more affordable at a price point of $99 instead of the previous $129 price tag.
