New report suggests Apple will soon start offering in-store display repairs

iPhone-5-Screen-Repair8:40 A.M. – That iPhone in your hand looks very nice and shiny, doesn’t it?  What if the screen shattered?  You would have to fork over hundreds of dollars to get the screen repaired from a third party repair company.  You can even get it changed from Apple, but it would cost you $149.  But things are about to get more affordable from Apple, in repairs that is.

According to a new report from 9to5Mac, in a new on-the-spot repair program, Apple will begin offering to replace customers’ cracked iPhone displays.  The company will be supplying their retail stores with proper machinery that are designed specifically to replace broken screens on iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

Mark Gurman goes on to state that “the screen replacements cost $149 for each device… this price point is significantly more affordable than the several-hundred dollars required to completely replace a device with a damaged/cracked screen.

Also, it seems that screen repairs isn’t the only thing Apple is currently working on introducing.  The company is working to have its retail employees repair volume buttons, speakers, batteries, vibrating motors, and even rear-facing cameras.  That’s quite a bit that Apple is going to offer to its customers.

Apple’s iPhone is a very splendid phone, but it isn’t the most durable phone on the market.  It’s good to see the company is stepping up to offer repairs to its customers in its own retail chain.
