Apple says that Mac Pro is “the future of the pro desktop.” It will start shipping in December, costing just $2,999 for the entry-level configuration.
Looking more in-depth at the Mac Pro, we already know a few details about it, such as the new design, what it includes on the outside, and so on. Now lets look a little deeper. Inside the Mac Pro, you will find an Intel Xeon E5 chip (6, 8 or 12-core options) with support up to 64GB of fast 1866MHz DDR3 EEC memory. It is the first Mac to come standard with dual-workstation AMD FirePro graphics with up to 4,096 stream processors and dual 384-bit memory busses, which easily allow for up to three 4K displays via Thunderbolt or HDMI.
There’s a motion controller to illuminate the back ports when you rotate the machine to help you find your way. The Cupertino giant says that the new Mac Pro is incredibly quiet, at 12 decibels in idle performance, which is as silent as the Mac mini.
The new Mac Pro starts at $2,999 for configuration with 3.7GHz quad-core chip and 12GB of DRAM. The new Mac Pro will be available in December and will starting shipping soon after.
Many will be happy to know that the company is designing and assembling the new Mac Pro in it's home country, United States. It's being assembled by 2,000 people spread across 20 states (Are you one of them? Share with us!).
