Trying to catch up to Verizon and surpass it, AT&T has been hard at work expanding its own LTE network. Earlier this month, the company now covers over 400 markets, and is aggressively launching its LTE network at a surprising pace.
Recently, AT&T has launched its LTE network in 9 new markets. The markets that AT&T launched its 4G LTE network are:
- Portsmouth, Ohio
- Bellingham, Washington
- Joplin, Missouri
- Statesboro, Georgia
- San Angelo, Texas
- Carson City, Nevada
- Yuba City, California
- Monterey, California
- East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania
Those living in the areas above can now enjoy AT&T's LTE network on your devices. Make sure that your headset supports LTE connectivity and if it doesn't, it wouldn't hurt to upgrade so you can take full advantage of the company's network.
AT&T in the recent months has been praised for having the fastest and most reliable LTE network out of all the major carriers. While Verizon is in the lead in terms of market coverage, it came in second place when compared to AT&T. Sprint and T-Mobile are really far behind in terms of expanding their LTE network. It's been a while since Sprint launched its LTE network, but has been very slow at expanding. T-Mobile has been aggressively expanding its LTE network, and will soon pass Sprint in coverage at the pace it's currently going at.
While on the top of T-Mobile, if you live in the Netherlands, T-Mobile Netherlands has announced the official commercial launch date for its consumer 4G LTE network, which will be available from 18 November 2013 across Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. The 1800MHz LTE network will cover around 29% of the population at its official launch, and will gradually be expanded. T-Mobile targeting coverage of 56% in the first half of 2014, 83% in H2 2014, 93% in H1 2015 and ‘100%’ by the end of 2015.
So, those of you living in the 9 new markets above, are you starting to enjoy AT&T's LTE network?
