BlackBerry 10.2 Cardholder App is the answer to Apple Passbook?

Recently, BlackBerry 10.2 was leaked to the public.  Developers and curious consumers alike have been digging their hands into the software and one interesting thing has popped up recently.  In a report by n4bb, they have found a feature called ‘Cardholder’.

If you look at the image above, you will notice that it’s essentially the same type of image that Apple has used for their Passbook app.  Could this be perhaps BlackBerry’s answer to Apple’s Passbook idea?  Maybe.  We won’t know exactly what’s set in stone until BlackBerry makes the announcement themselves officially, but this might be BlackBerry’s effort to get into the mobile wallet area.

Much like Apple’s Passbook feature, this Cardholder app allows customers to store their credit card information, movie tickets, flight tickets and so on.

This seems like a great upcoming feature for BlackBerry customers.  BlackBerry may be behind on many things and is losing market share every quarter, but that’s not stopping them from trying.

What do you think?
